Good article!

This could regenerate the American toy industry; but in the meantime, I guess the landfills will become lead mines.

Hi Leigh,

I recognize you from Active Rain. I actually saw Laurie Manny's post of this home. Looks like a really neat Victorian. There are quite a few of these nice looking Victorians in my area of Metrowest Massachusetts. Have a good one!

This was the best Yet! Me my daughter and two grandchildren came up on the 9th and had a wonderful time as usual. Everything was beautiful and so clean. Lots of wonderful booths.

There was a booth set up in the building where all of the green plants were that was selling waterless cookware, I would like to know the name of the company and the man's name who gave the great demonstration and his telephone number where he can be reached. I didn't know how I would get the money to buy several pieces but when I got home my Christmas Club check was in the mail. If you can get me this information I would appreciation it very, very much.

Hope to hear from you real soon so that I can place my order and receive it before Christmas and I look forward to coming back in 2008.

Many Thanks, Del Hammond

Yeah, right. Advising the masses to pinch themselves and go out of their way & conserve so the rich can just soak it up.

Don't think so? Check out the guy in Charlotte on a walled estate using 400,000 gallons of water a month. His neighbors, in big houses too, average 2,000 - 4,000 gallons a month.

Telling people to conserve when the government stands by for this crap is a joke. Cutsie little pictures of garden hoses in your 'advice' won't make up for what a single pig like him does.

Leigh, a bill just passed in the house and will now go to the Senate, that will eliminate the tax consequences of debt forgiveness by people who sell their home in a short sale. The way it is set up now, if a lender forgives $20,000 of debt when the house sells, the $20,000 is treated as income and income taxes are due on it. It is a hardship on the people who already have financial problems, so they are going to do away with the taxes. Who will pay the bill instead? Second homeowners. They are simultaneously tightening a loophole that allowed people to move into vacation or investment properties and declare them as primary residences, therefore getting the tax breaks given to primary home owners.
