Wesley Heights Revival Includes Eco-friendly Celadon Condos
April 7, 2009 by Victoria Stankard · 1 Comment
Nestled among the trees near the intersection of West Fourth Street and Tuckaseegee Road in the Wesley Heights area is a new development of eco-friendly condos called Celadon.’The development features 24 modern looking luxury condos with white exteriors and many green attributes.
The town home style condos have 10-20 foot ceilings and over-sized windows that allow the surrounding outdoor green space indoors as well as patios and terraces. Green features include: the use of efficiency heating and air conditioning systems, recycled insulation materials, light-reflective roofs and paints low in Volatile Organic Compounds or VOC.
According to James Funderburk, Jr. and Jim Hock III, the development will be one of the first green-certified residential projects in North Carolina. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification is expected to be done once the project is finished.
Buyer demographics reveal that the majority of Celadon home buyers are between 40-65 years of age who want to live near uptown Charlotte and want to work there or from home. Celadon conveniently sits between the rapidly developing green-way and west 4th St, just a quarter mile from the 277 belt loop surrounding uptown.
